Set in the historic and cultural heart of Madrid, this beautiful third floor property offers guests a central base from which to acquaint themselves with this magnificent city.

Puerta del Sol and the Plaza Mayor are the geographic and social center of not only Madrid, but all of Spain. You are walking distance to just about anything of interest. The city's main square, Plaza Mayor, offers many cafes, restaurants and a variety of traditional shops. And although a center for tourist activity, the Plaza Mayor still maintains all its medieval Spanish authenticity with the narrow cobblestone streets, fruit and vegetable market, and churches, tavernas and tapas bars that have been there for centuries.

The property itself is located in a listed building of historical interest from 1840. It is very spacious and offers three rooms. There's a double room with queen size bed (which can be split into two twins) with it's own private bathroom. This room has a marble fireplace and French doors that open onto a Spanish style narrow balcony. There is also one attractive single room and a twin room which has bunk beds. These other 2 rooms are only let to a family group, that will share the private bathroom with the first room. All of the beds have brand new mattresses and there are wood parquet floors throughout.

The entire property has been completely renovated and redecorated. Breakfast is served in the large sunny dining room and the hostess welcomes you to relax in the beautifully appointed sitting room with old style fireplace. An all around exceptional property, it is tastefully decorated in traditional Spanish style with antiques and paintings. As it is located on the third floor of a building from the 1800's, there is no elevator, but the home is easily accessed by a wooden staircase with lots of natural light.

Just within minutes walking distance from the home is Puerta del Sol where you find side walk entertainers and artists, dozens upon dozen of restaurants, cafes, tapas bars, El Corte Ingles department store and the Plaza Mayor. A couple of minutes walk down the street is the Museo del Jamon where you can try hundreds of different types of cured ham and traditional tapas. The world famous Prado museum is only a 20 minute walk, as are the Reina Sofia and the Thyssen museums.
