Right in the
heart of a true Madrid neighborhood, the Arapiles (near Chamberi) area offers guests a
wonderful way to acquaint themselves with the city. Near to the home you will find many
wonderful local restaurants, tapas bars and cafes. Shopping is also made easy with a great
variety of stores and boutiques in the immediate vicinity as well. The Quevedo line 2
& the Canal line 7 metros are just a 5 minute walk from the home with the Puerta del
Sol in downtown just a 10 minute ride away. The Prado, Serrano and Cibeles areas are just
a 15 minute scenic bus ride away.
This lovely home is situated on the 6th floor (with elevator) of a traditional Madrid
building. Being located on the very top floor definitely has its benefits such as the
large, beautifully landscaped terrace that offers a view over Madrid and the home itself
is very light, bright and airy.
The spacious guest bedroom has a king size bed with brand new firm mattress and a large
private bathroom with a shower just across the hall for your exclusive use only. The room
has 2 sets of windows offering lots of light. There is also a hot & cold wash basin in
the room for your convenience.
You are welcome to relax in the large, light and cozy lounge where there is a TV and
fireplace for your comfort. Breakfast is served in the dining room in the morning.
Your English speaking hosts have lived in Madrid most of their lives and are more than
happy to guide you in the right direction or help you plan your day. They have a parrot as
a family pet, but he lives in a separate area from the living quarters.
The department store El Corte Ingles is right near the home and you can find just about
anything you need there from fashions to sundries. There are also many boutiques lining
the streets for clothing and shoes. Restaurants abound in this area such as El Mundi for
traditional Spanish cuisine and El Verde specializing in fresh fish & seafood-both
just 1 block from the home. Within a 2 block walk is the Casa Blana that specializes in
Mediterranean food & rice dishes. And for all the famous tapas bars and cervezarias,
they line the street door after door just 5 blocks away from the home. |
