A lovely three storey house set in the heart of the Chamartin section of town and about 15 minutes from the city center. The house has a garden, a rarity for central Madrid residences, where smoking is permitted.
This is an elegantly furnished home where there are three guest rooms offered. On the third floor (30 steps) there is a twin bedded suite with a private lounge area and an ensuite bathroom. The sitting area also has a foldaway double bed. This floor has individually controlled air conditioning and heating, as well as ceiling fans.
On the second floor there is another twin bedded room with a private bathroom adjacent. This room has a view of the garden.
The hostess is from the United States and has a busy professional life, but is always happy to assist you with directions and suggestions for sightseeing in and around Madrid. She prepares a continental breakfast which is served in the bright country-style dining room which also overlooks the garden. This area is well served by the metro (just 5 minutes walk) and bus transport (a block away) and has plenty of local amenities. There are lots of stores, cafes, restaurants and tapas bars in the neighborhood - try the "Alpujarra" and "Gambinas". There is also a celebrated take-away gourmet shop "Mallorca" and the local "Nebraska Cafeteria". There is also a local swimming pool, which is a welcome way to relax after a hot day of sightseeing around Madrid.
