Located on the 2nd floor of a traditional 100 year-old brick built building, this home is in the heart of one of Madrid’s most elegant and fashionable areas. The Salamanca district is full of things to do and see. Home to a large number of the art galleries as well as renowned designer shops and exclusive boutiques. This pretty home is adorned with beautiful old paintings throughout as well as a few splendid pieces of antique furniture. The lovely American hostess offers you a quiet double bedroom with queen size bed.  The full bathroom with shower is adjacent to the room and shared with the hosts. You are invited to relax in the comfortable sitting room and make yourself a hot drink in the kitchen. A continental breakfast is served in the well appointed dining room on pretty china plates.
The Salamanca district offers visitors the best of Madrid with great shopping at the many prestigious boutiques, El Corte Ingles, Marks & Spencers and antique shops, as well as many cultural sites with its many art galleries, and easy walking distance to the National Archeology Museum. The Retiro Park is just a two minute walk from the home with a huge boating lake, performance artist, terrazas, museums and miles of greenery. A little further down you’ll find the world famous Prado Museum. Close to the home there are many varied restaurants and tapas bars like the Brasserie sidewalk café, the fashionable Mallorca Tea Rooms, cocktails at El Escenario, as well as several good seafood restaurants. In just a 10 minute walk you’ll find yourself on the Castellanas lined with terrazas – outdoor café/bars – open till the wee hours of the morning where the locals meet for drinks & listen to music on warm summer nights.
